This was an extraordinary encounter. I noticed a family of nutria sitting in a large cypress stump on the edge of Cypress Flats, and I was able to actually dock The POS to the stump without the nutria leaving. I was close enough to photograph this baby with fill flash. If you look closely, you'll see one of the over-sized, webbed back feet on the youngster. The baby is leaning against Mom's side, and the tip of another adult's tail can be seen in the lower right corner of the photo.
