This is what we saw when we first arrived at the Uhl home. The entire street and lawns were covered by cracked, black mud. We were pleased that only a few roof tiles had been displaced--optimism that was dashed when we went inside. The paint on the house designates the rescue team that searched, the date, and the number of people found inside. Thankfully, that number was zero, as the Uhls had fled to our home in Baton Rouge before the storm hit.
